Power System Management
Monitor your distribution grid in real time; manage alarms, loading and regulatory risk from a single operator console. The operations module of the GEOENER platform.
GeoEner PSM is power system management software that shows what is happening on the distribution grid the moment it happens, in context. Measurements from SCADA, power quality analyzers and RTUs are collected through a protocol-independent adapter architecture, stored in an isolated time-series pipeline and reflected on the GIS map and dashboards within seconds — without loading your corporate database. The smart alarm engine ships with threshold sets based on EN 50160 and regulatory bands; hysteresis and delays prevent alarm fatigue, dead-point detection catches silent measurement points, and no event is closed unattended. Loading analytics tracks transformer and feeder loading band by band; load duration curves (LDC) diagnose chronic overload, and the IEC 60076-7 thermal model computes transformer hot-spot temperature and ageing rate. Reactive ratios and contracted power are tracked cumulatively with end-of-period projections — graduated early warnings fire before penalties accrue. Distributed generation sites are monitored for capacity utilization and power factor compliance on a single panel; criticality-aware load shedding decision support produces recommendations, never commands: PSM follows a read-only OT principle and never intervenes in the grid. It is natively integrated with GEOENER: the same GIS map, the same authorization model, the same asset records — assets built through investment are monitored in operations and sustained through maintenance.
Module by module.
Voltage, current, power and temperature measurements land on the GIS map in real time. Point colours show data quality or loading band, and alarm rings stay on top in every mode.
Threshold sets based on EN 50160 and regulatory bands are generated in one click. Hysteresis, on/off delays and power-factor suppression at low load prevent false alarms, while dead-point detection catches points that stop reporting.
Acknowledgement, shelving, bulk operations and automatic reconciliation are supported. Alarms that closed without acknowledgement are flagged, so no event closes unattended.
A critical alarm band with audible alerts, KPI counters by severity and "likely root cause" flagging through feeder correlation — the shift operator's single screen.
Transformer and feeder loading is tracked band by band: the most loaded equipment, time spent in overload, phase unbalance and combined loading per asset.
Per-point load duration curves diagnose chronic overload: peak duration, P95 and median loading — direct input for investment planning.
The IEC 60076-7 model computes hot-spot temperature, ageing rate and safe continuous capacity — from measured oil temperature where available, from estimation otherwise.
Inductive/capacitive ratios are tracked cumulatively against the metering period; an end-of-period projection is derived from recent days and graduated early warnings fire before any penalty accrues.
15-minute demand, monthly maximum and contracted power exceedance are tracked separately for import and export, with tolerance-aware evaluation.
Capacity utilization, availability and grid-code power factor compliance for licensed and unlicensed generation sites are brought together on a single panel.
Produces criticality-aware, minimum-sufficient load shedding proposals and distributed generation curtailment advice. It recommends but never commands: intervention in operational technology always stays with the operator.
Role-based e-mail notifications are sent on critical events, with rate limiting to prevent notification floods.
One map: measurement points, alarms and loading appear over your own inventory with no separate GIS installation. One authorization model: who sees which screen and acknowledges which alarm is governed by your existing role structure. One data language: every monitored point is bound to the real asset record, so analytics results meet asset history.
The measurement stream starts from SCADA, power quality analyzers and RTUs.
Protocol-independent adapter architecture with queue guarantees that prevent data loss during outages.
A high-volume measurement archive with fast aggregation, isolated from your corporate database.
Alarm, loading, thermal and regulatory engines evaluate the data continuously.
Web-based live map, dashboards and alarm management with role-based access.
Monitor the grid from one console throughout the shift, respond to real events without alarm fatigue and see regulatory risk before the period closes.
Spot chronically stressed equipment through loading bands, load duration curves and transformer thermal analysis, feeding investment and maintenance plans with data.
Track capacity utilization, power factor compliance and contracted power exceedance on one panel, managing reactive penalty risk with early warnings.
All products run on the same map, the same authorization model and the same asset records.
