Line Project Engineering Calculations
Reads overhead line projects from their drawings and produces engineering results: profile, sag, ground clearance and crossing checks, pole and cross-arm suitability, mechanical and electrical calculations and grounding; with single-line diagrams and longest LV path analysis, drawing sheets and deliverables come from one place.
GeoEner Project Analysis brings together the screens where a line project's drawing is read and engineering results are produced. It uses the preliminary project or as-built and site handover drawing version in GeoEner as input; the main line and branches are defined on the map, and a field survey file is loaded so terrain, side profiles and obstacles are taken into account.
In the Route Workspace, the profile is drawn at sheet scale, with the conductor curve, ground clearance violations and uplift points marked on it. The sag table is calculated per tension section using the change-of-state equation and catenary solution. The minimum conductor-to-ground distance is checked per span, and vertical and horizontal distances at road, railway, power line and pipeline crossings are checked by crossing type. Pole top force, cross-arm suitability and TEDAŞ tolerances are checked, with ice zones taken from TEDAŞ's district list. Voltage drop, loading and losses are calculated, and step and touch voltages are checked for kiosk and pole grounding. Every result is shown with the assumptions it rests on.
The Single-Line Diagram generates the feeder tree from a substation automatically from network data and shows voltage drop and loading in color bands, together with short-circuit values. Longest LV Path finds the longest feeding path in each transformer area. Profile, pole, sag and clearance sheets come out as PDF, and deliverables such as the sag table, pole list, coordinate list, KML and DXF drawings come in a single ZIP package.

Module by module.
A preliminary project or as-built/handover drawing version is chosen as the source, and the main line and branches are defined by clicking poles on the map. Terrain, side profiles and obstacles load from a field survey file, pole elevations from a point list, and study points can be entered by hand.
The profile is drawn at sheet scale between 1:2000 and 1:500, aligned with the bottom ruler. The conductor curve, ground contact curve, clearance violations and uplift points are marked, and the view exports as PNG and SVG.
Sag is calculated per tension section with the change-of-state equation and catenary solution, with dead-end poles splitting sections. Uplift and conductor breakage are checked, and the maximum sag temperature is configurable.
The minimum conductor-to-ground distance in each span is compared with the acceptance limit. Vertical and horizontal distances at road, railway, power line and pipeline crossings are checked by type, with the crossed line's conductor height corrected for temperature. Building intersections are listed separately.
The pole table shows top force and the governing tension scenario, and cross-arm suitability is checked with suggestions. TEDAŞ tolerances apply, ice zones come from TEDAŞ's district list, and spans in coastal districts are checked with a reduction.
Voltage drop, loading and losses are calculated. Grounding is calculated for kiosks, MV poles and LV end poles, step and touch voltages are checked against the grounding regulation, and an Excel report is produced.
The feeder tree from a substation is generated automatically from network data, showing voltage drop and loading in color bands with short-circuit values, and exports as PNG, SVG or vector PDF. Longest LV Path shows each transformer area's longest feeding path on the map; both refresh every night.
Profile, pole table, sag table and clearance sheets are produced as PDF. The sag table, pole distribution list, coordinate list, Form-2, route KML, profile and site plan DXFs, quantity take-offs and the study sketch download individually or as a single ZIP delivery package.
A preliminary project or as-built/handover version is selected, and the main line and branches are defined on the map.
The field survey and point list are loaded, study points entered, and ice zone and wind conditions set.
Profile, sag, clearance, crossing, pole, mechanical, electrical and grounding calculations run on the same inputs.
Clearance violations, uplift and tolerance breaches are flagged, and every result is shown with its assumptions.
PDF sheets and DXF, KML and Excel deliverables download individually or in a single ZIP package.
Produce sag, clearance, pole and grounding calculations for line projects directly from the drawing.
Check contractor projects with the same engines, with violations and assumptions on one screen.
Track voltage drop and feeding paths on the existing network with single-line diagrams and longest LV path analysis.
Capabilities in development.
Placing poles automatically along a route using high-resolution terrain data.
Running the analysis directly on the existing network inventory instead of a drawing.
The core input is the preliminary project or as-built and site handover drawing version in GeoEner, with the main line and branches defined by clicking poles on the map. Terrain, side profiles and obstacles load from a field survey file and pole elevations from a point list, and study points can be entered by hand. Ice zones come from TEDAŞ's district list, and wind conditions are set per project.
Yes, project approval and review teams can check contractor projects with the same calculation engines. Clearance violations, uplift points and TEDAŞ tolerance breaches are flagged and shown on one screen. Because every result is shown with the assumptions it rests on, reviewers can see exactly what each calculation is based on.
No, automatic pole placement is not available today; poles come from the drawing and the main line is defined by selecting poles on the map. Automatic pole placement using high-resolution terrain data is a planned roadmap item. Clearance checks cover conductor-to-ground distance and road, railway, power line and pipeline crossings; building intersections are listed separately, but no clearance calculation based on building height is made.
GeoEner Project Analysis is a GeoEner module whose screens are switched on per installation. Line calculations currently run on drawing versions; running the analysis directly on the existing network inventory instead of a drawing is planned on the roadmap. The single-line diagram and longest LV path analysis, however, are generated automatically from network data and refreshed every night.
All products run on the same map, the same authorization model and the same asset records.
