AKIM Field Management Application
Meter reading via OCR and optical port, connect/disconnect, AI-assisted job dispatch, route optimization, material tracking and SAP integration — the whole field operation in one application.
The AKIM Field Management Application runs the entire field operation — from meter reading and connect/disconnect to maintenance and inspection jobs — on a single map-based structure. Requests arriving from the subscriber system or from SAP become work orders; an AI-assisted dispatch engine assigns them automatically based on each team's location, skills, current workload and the job's priority and estimated duration, then rebalances as the field changes during the day. A daily tour plan and the most efficient sequence are produced for every team.
Readings are captured three ways in the field: index recognition by OCR from a meter photo, direct reading through the meter's optical port with a probe, and rule-checked manual entry when needed. Every reading is stored with its photo, location and timestamp, compared against the previous period's consumption, and validated by rules — reverse index, impossible increase, abnormal deviation — that warn the technician on the spot, so faulty indexes are caught before they reach headquarters. For connect/disconnect jobs the seal number, photo and location are filed as evidence.
In the advanced model, field materials are part of the same flow: meters, seals, gaskets and regulators are tracked by serial number and barcode/QR along the warehouse–team–subscriber chain; team custody and stock are visible in real time, and every installed or removed meter is tied directly to its work order. SAP integration carries subscriber and work order data into the application and pushes readings and material movements back to SAP, closing billing and stock processes without manual data entry. The mobile app works offline in meter rooms with no coverage and syncs automatically once connectivity returns, while headquarters follows team locations, completion rates and delay risk on a live map.
Module by module.
A photo of the meter is taken, the index digits are recognized by OCR and presented for the technician's confirmation. The photo is stored with location and timestamp, becoming the evidence for that reading in case of a dispute.
On meters with optical probe support, the index, tariff registers and event/alarm logs are read straight from the device, removing manual entry and reading errors.
Every reading is compared with the previous period; reverse index, impossible jumps and abnormal deviation raise a warning in the field, so suspicious readings are corrected or justified before they reach headquarters.
Work orders are assigned automatically by weighing team location, skills, current workload, job priority and estimated duration together, and the distribution is rebalanced as the field changes during the day.
A team's jobs are ordered into the most efficient sequence by subscriber density, zone and time windows, and the daily tour plan is laid out on the map.
For disconnection, reconnection and sealing, the seal number, photo, location and timestamp are recorded together, so the operation can be documented in full afterwards.
Meters, seals, gaskets and regulators are tracked by serial number and barcode/QR along the warehouse–team–subscriber chain. Team custody and stock are visible in real time, and each installed or removed meter is linked directly to its work order.
Subscriber and work order data flow from SAP into the application, while readings and material movements flow back to SAP. Billing and stock processes close without manual data entry.
In basements and meter rooms without coverage, operations are queued on the device and synced automatically once connectivity returns — no lost work, no second visit.
Team locations, completion rate, pending job count and delay risk are followed on one screen, with period-, zone- and team-based reports exported as PDF, Excel and CSV.
Reading periods, connect/disconnect requests and inspection jobs are pulled from the subscriber system or SAP and turned into geolocated work orders.
Work orders are assigned automatically by team location, skills, workload and job priority, and a route and daily tour plan is produced for each team.
The team opens the job on mobile, reads via OCR, optical port or manual entry, attaches photos and seal details and deducts materials by barcode. Without coverage the operation waits on the device.
Reading rules run both in the field and at headquarters; suspicious indexes, missing evidence or inconsistent material movements are routed for approval.
Approved readings flow into billing and material movements into stock through SAP, and period-, zone- and team-based reports are produced.
Run reading periods across millions of subscribers plus connect/disconnect and sealing processes with full evidence, and close meter replacements together with material tracking.
Bring reading, inspection and disconnection jobs into a single pool, assign teams automatically by location and skill, and monitor the field live.
Track the performance, completion rate and assigned materials of teams working across multiple regions from a single dashboard.
Capabilities in development.
An expected index range is computed from the subscriber's past consumption pattern; readings outside that range are flagged instantly in the field, and an end-of-period billing projection is presented to headquarters.
Consumption breaks, seal and body findings in the meter photo and reading history are evaluated together to produce a risk score, turning high-scoring subscribers into inspection work orders.
The dispatch engine learns the real duration of each job type from historical field data, flags jobs that will not fit into the day in advance and rebalances the distribution accordingly.
Routes are replanned during the day taking traffic, cancelled appointments and incoming urgent jobs into account, and the updated sequence is pushed to the team instantly.
Indexes from remote reading systems are collected in the same pool, so only meters that cannot be read or verified turn into field work orders.
Meter, seal and gasket demand per zone is projected from planned work orders and historical consumption rates, so warehouse shipments and team custody can be planned ahead.
All products run on the same map, the same authorization model and the same asset records.
