Outage & EPDK Reporting

Supply continuity management for electricity distribution companies, from outage record to EPDK report and compensation: staged outage records, affected installations calculated from the network topology, EPDK tables and the Customer Interruption Record, compensation, quality control and an outage map in one application.

GeoEner Supply Continuity brings together the outage records, reports and compensation calculations that distribution companies keep under the EPDK supply continuity regulation in a single application. Every outage is recorded with its stages, notification, status workflow and change history. Each stage records which network element was opened and which switching operation was performed; related outages can be merged, and planned outages are linked to the relevant record.

Affected installations are not counted by hand — they are calculated from the GeoEner network topology. For each installation, interruption duration and energy not supplied are calculated using the consumer group's load profile. From this data, EPDK Tables 1, 3, 4, 5 and the Customer Interruption Record are produced, cross-table consistency is checked, and everything can be exported to Excel. Annual and long-interruption compensation is first viewed as a simulation; the final calculation is only run for a locked reporting period, and periods lock automatically on a set day.

Quality control rules score every outage and list suspicious records by period, so faulty records are fixed before they reach a report. The outage map shows outages, affected installations and network elements together, and can be filtered by drawing an area on the map. A worst-performing network elements study is tracked together with root causes and investment/maintenance status. Outage change records are chain-signed and their integrity can be verified; personal data of installations is stored encrypted, shown masked, every access is logged, and it is anonymized once the retention period ends.

GeoEner Supply Continuity is now live and is enabled as a module for distribution companies using GeoEner.

Capabilities

What GeoEner Tedarik Sürekliliği does

Module by module.

  • stages · switching · merging

    Outage records

Every outage is recorded with its stages, notification and status workflow. Each stage keeps the type of network element opened and the switching performed; related outages are merged, planned outages are linked to the record, and documents can be attached.

  • topology · load profile

Affected installations and energy not supplied

Affected installations, interruption durations and energy not supplied are calculated from the GeoEner network topology. Energy not supplied uses the consumer group's load profile, and installations and their network connections can be bulk-loaded from a file.

  • Tables 1 · 3 · 4 · 5 · CIR

    EPDK reports

EPDK Tables 1, 3, 4, 5 and the Customer Interruption Record are produced directly from outage data. Cross-table consistency is checked so discrepancies surface before a report is filed, and tables export to Excel.

  • annual · long · simulation

    Interruption compensation

Annual and long-interruption compensation is calculated in simulation and live modes. The live calculation can only run for a locked reporting period, so data changed afterwards never contradicts compensation already paid.

  • auto lock · period

    Reporting period lock

The previous month's reporting period locks automatically on a set day. Records in a locked period stay fixed as the basis for reports and compensation.

  • rules · score · suspicious records

    Quality control

Configurable quality rules score every outage. Suspicious outages are listed by period, so incomplete or inconsistent records are corrected before reporting.

  • map · drawn area

    Outage map

Outages, affected installations and network elements are shown on the same map. Drawing an area on the map filters the outages in that region.

  • worst elements · root cause

    Worst-performing elements

The worst-performing network elements study is imported from Excel with a preview and matched against the network inventory. A root cause catalog, investment/maintenance status, meeting notes and a summary of the most affected feeders are tracked on one screen.

  • chained signatures · integrity

    Tamper-evident change log

Every change to an outage is recorded with chained signatures. The record's integrity can be verified in one step, making any retroactive change visible.

  • encryption · masking · anonymization

    Personal data protection

Personal data of installations is stored encrypted and shown masked; only authorized users can reveal it and every access is logged. A personal data access report is available, and data is anonymized a set period after the contract ends.

Process

How It Works

  1. 1

    Record — outage and stages

The outage notification, its stages and switching operations are recorded; related outages are merged and planned outages linked.

  2. 2

    Calculate — impact from topology

Affected installations, interruption durations and energy not supplied are calculated from network topology and load profiles.

  3. 3

    Check — quality control

Quality rules score outages, and suspicious records are fixed before the period closes.

  4. 4

    Lock — reporting period

The period locks automatically on a set day, fixing records as the basis for reports and compensation.

  5. 5

Report — EPDK tables and compensation

EPDK Tables 1, 3, 4, 5 and the Customer Interruption Record are produced and consistency-checked; compensation is calculated in final form.

Key Benefits

  • Affected installations from topology, not by hand
  • Consistent, audit-ready EPDK tables
  • Compensation in locked periods, fully traceable
  • Encrypted personal data with logged access

Who Is It For?

  • Electricity distribution companies (DSOs)

Manage supply continuity records, EPDK reports and compensation from the same data, ready for audit.

  • Operations and network management

Follow outages on the map, see worst-performing elements with their root causes and turn them into investment and maintenance priorities.

  • Reporting, compliance and data protection teams

Be ready for audit questions with consistency checks, locked periods, chain-signed records and a personal data access report.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

What data is needed to calculate affected installations and energy not supplied?

GeoEner Supply Continuity calculates affected installations and interruption durations from the GeoEner network topology, and energy not supplied from the consumer group's load profile. For this, installations, their network connections and load profiles need to be loaded into the system. This data can be bulk-imported from Excel with a preview, while network inventory and topology come directly from GeoEner.

If an outage record changes after the reporting period closes, what happens to compensation?

Because the final compensation calculation only runs for a locked reporting period, data changed afterwards never contradicts compensation already paid. The previous month's reporting period locks automatically on a set day, and records in that period stay fixed as the basis for reports and compensation. Before the lock, annual and long-interruption compensation can be viewed in simulation mode. Every change to an outage is also recorded with chained signatures, so any retroactive change becomes visible during integrity verification.

How are faulty or incomplete outage records caught before they reach an EPDK report?

Configurable quality control rules score every outage and list suspicious outages by period, so incomplete or inconsistent records are corrected before reporting. When EPDK Tables 1, 3, 4, 5 and the Customer Interruption Record are produced, cross-table consistency is checked as well. The outage map shows outages, affected installations and network elements together, so records can also be reviewed on the map.

How is the personal data of installation owners protected?

Personal data of installations is stored encrypted, shown masked on screen and can only be revealed by authorized users. Every access is logged, and a personal data access report is available. The data is anonymized a set period after the contract ends.
