Network Inventory, Topology and Feeder Management
Turns your network inventory into a connected electrical network model: switch-aware feeder tracing, feeder creation from the network, open point suggestions and transformer regions, all shown on a vector network map. For organizations without their own GIS, the network is drawn directly in GeoEner.
GeoEner GIS turns the organization's network inventory into a connected electrical network model made of nodes, edges and assets. The inventory can come from two sources: network equipment fed from the organization's existing GIS, or records drawn directly in GeoEner. For organizations without their own GIS, GeoEner works as the GIS in which the network is drawn and maintained.
Topology is built for a province, district or selected area; line ends are joined, connections inside cells and kiosks are created automatically, and loose ends and weak links are listed as data profile warnings. Feeder tracing respects switch states: open switches are not crossed and transformers separate MV from LV tracing; every asset is classified as traced, ambiguous, in a loop or not traced. Feeders are created from the network through the substation, head line and head cell, previewed first and then confirmed. Open point suggestions find where feeders meet and score candidates for balance. Feeder reconciliation compares the calculated feeder with the existing GIS record and produces a validation report, without overwriting any record.
In Network Drawing, 21 items such as poles, transformers, lines, panels, cells, disconnectors, breakers, meters and distributed generation can be drawn; drawings snap to existing network nodes, the attribute form builds itself for the inventory type, and "Update Network" commits the drawing to the topology. Results are shown on the Network Map with server-generated vector tiles, colored by voltage and tracing status. GeoEner's map infrastructure provides layers published through GeoServer in 14 groups, KML, MIF, GeoJSON and DXF import, and KML, MIF, DXF, DWG, GeoJSON and PDF export.

Module by module.
Inventory is turned into a graph of nodes, edges and assets for a province, district or selected area. Line ends are joined, switches inside cells are chained, and busbars are created in distribution centers and cabinets. The same input always yields the same result, and loose ends and weak links are listed as data profile warnings.
Tracing respects switch states: open switches are not crossed, transformers are galvanic boundaries and MV tracing does not cross to the LV side. The LV side is traced separately from each transformer to form transformer regions. Every asset is classified as traced, ambiguous (two feeders), loop or not traced.
Feeders are created from the network through the substation, head line and head cell. A preview comes first, then the change is applied on confirmation, with items needing review listed separately. Where feeder numbers are not kept, feeders are opened from the substation and feeder name.
Points where feeders meet are found and candidates are scored for balance; switches with a known state are never suggested. Suggestions are previewed on the map and applied selectively, and the organization's own open point list can be loaded from Excel.
The calculated feeder is compared with the feeder record in the existing GIS, with differences and a tracing summary on one screen. The feeder validation report exports as CSV or XLSX. Reconciliation is report-only and never overwrites a record.
21 items can be drawn, including poles, transformers, MV/LV overhead and underground lines, panels, cells, disconnectors, breakers, meters and distributed generation. Drawings snap to existing nodes, province and district come from the coordinates, the attribute form is built for the inventory type and fields critical to topology are mandatory. "Update Network" commits the drawing to the topology and the map.
The network is shown with server-generated vector tiles: MV and LV in different colors, untraced, ambiguous and looped lines highlighted separately, and open switches with their own symbol. Clicking an asset shows its calculated feeder and tracing status.
Network equipment, maintenance, investment and project layers are published through GeoServer in 14 groups, and layers can be reordered, made transparent and shown by scale. Drawings import as KML, MIF, GeoJSON and DXF and export as KML, MIF, template-based MIF, DXF, DWG, GeoJSON and PDF, with transfer status to the organization's GIS tracked.
Inventory is read from the existing GIS, or mirrored into GeoEner so the network is maintained there.
Topology is built for a province, district or selected area, and data profile warnings are reviewed.
Feeders are previewed from the network and confirmed, and feeder tracing runs.
Calculated feeders are compared with GIS records, open point suggestions are applied and tracing is repeated.
New assets are drawn and committed to the topology and the map with "Update Network".
See and fix gaps in the inventory and feeder inconsistencies with topology checks and the reconciliation report.
Calculate feeders and transformer regions from the network and evaluate open point placement for balance.
Draw and maintain the network directly in GeoEner, with topology and feeder information created in the same place.
Capabilities in development.
Organizing maintenance plans and work orders by feeder branch, with branch-level reports.
Reflecting switch states in the topology live from SCADA position signals.
Feeder tracing in GeoEner GIS respects switch states: open switches are not crossed, transformers are galvanic boundaries and MV tracing does not cross to the LV side. The LV side is traced separately from each transformer, which forms transformer regions. Every asset is classified as traced, ambiguous (two feeders), loop or not traced. Reflecting switch states in the topology live from SCADA position signals is planned on the roadmap.
GeoEner GIS imports KML, MIF/MID, GeoJSON and DXF files, including zip archives. For export it supports KML, MIF, template-based MIF, DXF, DWG, GeoJSON and map PDF. The source coordinate system can be selected on import and the target coordinate system on export, and transfer status to the organization's GIS is tracked.
When topology is built, loose ends and weak links are listed as data profile warnings. On the Network Map, untraced, ambiguous and looped lines are highlighted separately. Feeder reconciliation compares the calculated feeder with the feeder record in the existing GIS and produces a CSV or XLSX validation report; reconciliation is report-only and never overwrites a record.
GeoEner GIS is a GeoEner module switched on per installation, with per-screen role permissions. Data is stored in PostgreSQL with PostGIS, and layers are published in 14 groups as OGC WMS/WFS through GeoServer. The web map uses OpenLayers with server-generated vector tiles (MVT).
All products run on the same map, the same authorization model and the same asset records.
